I will not let my 1st Amendment rights be taken away. Thomas Jefferson, I will not fail you love.
These rainy days will soon turn into snow <3
Question with boldness.
At first when Occupy Wall street appeared in the media, It sounded like a great idea. I supported it without even knowing the grounds. Later I was convinced that it was an evil group of communists and socialists who are trying to obtain what they call “equality”. I’ve read massive amounts of online reports and blogs. I’ve even watched the video footage, each time shaking my head in shame. I’m still unable to figure out what they are exactly protesting. I see anti-war signs, end the fed signs, equality signs, 99% signs, 1% signs, equal pay signs, legalize marijuana signs, and end the war signs. It reminds me of the 1960-1970 hippie movement. I’ve even come across data that proves the so called “1%” is actually 20%.
Being the double sided, open minded, person that I am, I always question my thoughts. Like: “Why not support the revolution against corruption?” And then, I proceed to answer myself: “Capitalism isn’t corrupt. The United States of America wasn’t built to bail out the “loosers”. The people who are protesting are the people who failed to make something out of their life. They are lazy Americans who not once tried, or tried and gave up. The United States doesn’t give up. We push, we try no matter how hard, and we complete. The corruption of this government lies not within the way that the United States of America was created (which is capitalism [profit and loss]), but lies within the people who run this country.”
So, in my opinion, if anybody would like to join an organization, such as Occupy Wall St., I suggest starting with the real problem, like electing the right officials into office. For Example, Ron Paul. The main reason that I support Ron Paul is because he is always consistent in his word. He stands for the Constitution and nothing less.
I do applaud those who are participating in OWS because they know that there is something wrong with this country. And even though I do not believe that they are doing the right thing, protest is better than no protest. Even Thomas Jefferson believed that rebellion was good once in awhile, even if it is for the wrong reasons, because it shows that the people are not asleep. I hope the real revolution will come soon, because United We Stand and Divided We Fall. And we are going down hill fast.
